Posting Frequency and Stuff

Last night’s Facebook party was a smashing success! If you missed all the fun, you can still get in on all the giveaways here.

One thing we talked about during the Facebook party was organization – and the lack thereof! I admitted that I’ve been struggling lately to juggle all the things on my plate: blogging, preschool at home, housekeeping, family and church activities, and more. Although I hate to admit it, it’s impossible for me to adequately fulfill all these responsibilities, so I’m realizing that something’s gotta give.

And unfortunately, since it’s the something with the most flexibility and the fewest actual responsibilities, blogging is the thing that’s gotta give. Not entirely, of course! I love blogging – I love the community it generates and the friendships I make and the opportunities it brings me. I would give it up if I had to, because other things are certainly more important in the long run, but at this point, I just need to cut it back.

Reducing Post Frequency: What’s Going, What’s Staying

Some of you might actually appreciate this: I’m reducing the frequency of my posting from 5-6 days a week to 3-4.

As much as I love sharing good deals with you, Saturday Savings takes a lot of time to compile and format, so that feature is going out the door. I will still be sharing great deals as I come across them via Facebook and Twitter, so be sure you are following me on those venues.

And I love Food Waste Friday, but I’m just not going to commit to it on a weekly basis. It either takes up valuable space on my editorial calendar, or it creates extra work for me. I’m still working on eliminating food waste around here; I just won’t be posting those weekly reports quite as often.

Healthy 2Day Wednesday is going to stay because I love watching that community grow and giving all of you blogging readers an opportunity to share your posts.

What to Expect, and Things to Come

I’m still working out the details of my posting schedule, but as of right now, I plan to write actual blog posts (aside from H2W) 3 times a week: Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Some weeks I might only post twice, depending on how things are going at home, and what I have on the blogging calendar.

I am in the beginning stages of planning a weekly or monthly series of guest posts written by my favorite bloggers, and those posts would be in addition to that calendar. (I’m really excited about this series, by the way!)

Additionally, any giveaways or reviews will be posted on Thursday, which is my usual practice anyway, so as not to get in the way of actual content.

In Conclusion

In the end, I think these changes are all positive! I look forward to a more relaxed blogging pace, and the chance to work on other aspects of blogging (like finishing up some pages that still have not switched over to Authentic Simplicity from Quick and Easy Cheap and Healthy!). I also look forward to a more relaxed pace of life in general. The whirlwind gets to be a little too much after a while!

Thank you, reading friends, for sticking with me through all the changes recently, and for cheering me on. Blogging wouldn’t be nearly as fun or rewarding without you!
