I hope you’ve enjoyed de-cluttering these past 28 days! I know I always breathe a little easier when I get rid of the junk that seems to build up so quickly. Today’s the last day of the challenge, but instead of giving you a specific task, I’m going to give you some tools to help you go forward with the de-cluttering. Now that you’ve established a daily habit of de-cluttering, let’s keep it up!
When typing up these posts for the series, I realized that a lot of the items that needed to be de-cluttered boiled down to a few different categories – items that weren’t usable (or were never used), items that couldn’t or wouldn’t be repaired, and items that just simply wouldn’t be needed anymore. I created this graphic with a few pointed questions that will help you determine what you can get rid of as you de-clutter.
Happy De-Cluttering!

I love your questions (and the follow up questions). Sometimes something will pass the first and not the second. I have clutter that should be moved out of my life because of the the second question (especially “Will I actually upcycle it?”) I am notorious for having stuff that fits into the “Someday/maybe” category and needs to move it to a “Get real. You are not going to get to this until the kids are out of the house.” category.
Something that is pushing me to “get real” is our plans to move in June.
I am going to print this and help myself (and my kids) in the sorting process. Great job.
I have enjoyed and used your de-cluttering ideas. We have just moved to a different state and I have very, very little storage space. I have 35 years of collecting to downsize in every aspect of my home. I missed out on some of your earlier de-cluttering articles. Is it possible to see these items? Even after going through some things once, I have really received the right motivation at the right time to go back through things again, once things are completely put away. I appreciate all the help you have given me!
