I have a picture, and it’s even on the card on my computer, but now I’ve wasted diligently spent my time wisely on Facebook for the past hour and I have no more time to write this post. So no time to edit the picture, sorry! However, I can tell you what was in it:
- a nectarine
- half a cucumber
- half a hot dog
The hot dog was my Certain Little Someone’s, who is usually a hot dog fiend! For some reason, he wasn’t up for eating the rest of that one, and it just got neglected in the fridge. The other two items were shoved way back into the back of the refrigerator and I forgot about them. That makes me very sad. This week, I’m going to attempt to remember all my produce.
How’d you do with food waste this week?
I just found this. What a great idea! I too hate food waste. I go in cycles - sometimes I am really good at NOT wasting food, then other times I am awful! This week my kids went back to school and I thought I would have more time to cook. Didn’t happen, so now I’m hoping I can make what I planned before I need to toss the ingredients.
I have to say, seeing the “half a hot dog” made me chuckle.
This morning, I threw out a wilted green onion and about 4 oz of mozzarella cheese that I left on my cutting board overnight from last night’s dinner… oops!
Oh, don’t you hate it when you do that? I do it all the time!
That’s not bad! A small amount of food to throw away, great job

Me too. I have to make it to the tomatoes first. A pan of them got dropped on the floor and now some of them are not in very good shape. Maybe I’ll freeze them.
