Now I have nothing against chocolate, mind you. Quite the contrary. A hot and creamy cup of homemade cocoa fits the bill deliciously on a cold winter evening. It’s just that at this time of year, when the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock (whatever that is), I go a little pumpkin crazy and start putting pumpkin into just about everything.
Including hot chocolate. Except without the chocolate. So it’s not chocolate.
I’ts Pumpkin Not Chocolate.
And it’s amazing.
Pumpkin Not Chocolate
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk (any kind)
- 2 TBSP pumpkin puree
- 5 drops liquid stevia (or 1-2 tsp. honey)
- dash of cinnamon
- dash of grated nutmeg
- dash of ginger
- splash of vanilla
Instructions
If you have a Vitamix:
- Place all ingredients in container. Blend on High until it begins to steam, about 3-4 minutes.
If you don’t have a Vitamix:
- Place all ingredients in a small saucepan on the stove. Whisk together over medium heat until it is blended and steaming. Use a stick blender (or jar blender) and blend until smooth and creamy.
Number of servings (yield): 1

Hot Pumpkin…. looks really nice, doesn’t have the same ring to it as hot chocolate. Although having it first thing in the morning when you wake up rather than at night when you have hot chocolate.

Not only does this look delicious. But, you are a bit of a hero. I have been wanting a not hot chocolate drink, that is gingerbread flavored. Milk, spices, honey and molasses. Because I go GINGERBREAD crazy this time of the year (which implies I am not the rest of the year). But, I have this weird obsession with names and could not think what to call it so could not make it.
Don’t worry though, if I post it I won’t call it Gingerbread Not Chocolate, it would just be my personal name as inspired by you.
